ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
Financial Relief When You
Need It Most
Acts of Love is a financial assistance initiative Team Michelle began in 2017 to help breast cancer patients and survivors with the costs that fall through the cracks — expenses associated with treatment that insurance doesn't cover, everyday bills that don't pause for a diagnosis, and the quiet financial emergencies that nobody talks about.
Grants of up to $1,000 are available to patients currently in treatment as well as survivors who are struggling with cancer-related expenses after treatment ends. There are no complicated income thresholds and no lengthy waiting periods — just a simple application reviewed monthly by our team, with applicants notified by the end of each month.
Acts of Love is available to any breast cancer patient or survivor in the United States. You can apply for yourself, or submit an application on behalf of someone you know.

GRANT COVERAGE
What Your Grant Can Cover
Acts of Love grants are flexible by design — because cancer's financial impact doesn't fit neatly into categories. Here are some of the ways our recipients have used their grants:
MEDICAL BILLS
Co-pays, deductibles, out-of-pocket treatment costs, and unreimbursed medical expenses that accumulate during cancer care.
TRANSPORTATION
Gas, rideshare, and travel costs for treatment appointments, consultations, and medical visits that add up quickly over months of care.
HOUSING AND RENT
Rent, mortgage payments, and housing costs that become difficult to maintain when income is disrupted by treatment and recovery.
CHILDCARE
Childcare and school tuition support for parents in treatment, including preschool costs and after-school care during recovery.
PRESCRIPTIONS
Medications including long-term hormonal therapy, anti-nausea drugs, and other prescriptions not fully covered by insurance.
OTHER NEEDS
Wigs, house cleaning support, caregiver relief, costs related to reconstructive surgery, and other cancer-related expenses not listed above.

ABOUT ACTS OF LOVE
Financial Support for Every Survivor
A breast cancer diagnosis changes everything — including your finances. Treatment costs, missed work, prescriptions, and the everyday expenses that don't pause for a health crisis can quickly become overwhelming. Team Michelle created the Acts of Love program in 2017 because we saw survivors in our own community struggling in silence, too focused on healing to ask for help.
Since its founding, Acts of Love has awarded grants to 85+ survivors and families across the United States, providing direct financial relief at the moments it matters most. The program is supported entirely by donations and fundraising events like the annual Taste for the Cure Gala — meaning every dollar raised by our community goes directly to a survivor in need.
Acts of Love grants are intentionally flexible. Whether you need help covering a month of insurance premiums, a round of prescriptions, childcare while you recover, or transportation to appointments, our team is here to help. There are no income restrictions and no bureaucratic hurdles — just a straightforward application and a community that shows up.
In addition to Acts of Love, Team Michelle also provides free care packages to survivors nationwide and funds cutting-edge breast cancer research at UCI and the University of Kansas. Together, these three programs form the heart of our mission: to ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone.
