ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
What is a Team Michelle Care Package?
A Team Michelle care package is more than a box of items — it's a tangible expression of love from an entire community. We know that a positive mental state meaningfully improves health outcomes during treatment, and that feeling seen and supported can make even the hardest days a little lighter.
Each package is thoughtfully curated with comfort items, practical tools for treatment days, and a handwritten note of encouragement. Everything is provided completely free of charge, shipped directly to the survivor's door — because fighting cancer is hard enough without worrying about the cost of care.
Our Care Package program is made possible through generous community donations, our partnership with Thrive Causemetics, and the volunteers of the Team Michelle Support Team who pack and ship every single box with love.

OUR MISSION
Free Breast Cancer Support
for Every Survivor
Team Michelle's free breast cancer care package program was born out of personal experience. When our founder Michelle Buessing was diagnosed with Stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma in 2009, she understood firsthand how isolating and overwhelming a breast cancer diagnosis can feel. She made a promise: no survivor should face this journey without knowing someone cares.
Since launching our Care Package program in 2020, we have shipped over 800 free care packages to breast cancer survivors across all 50 states. Each package is assembled by our volunteer Support Team and filled with carefully chosen comfort items — from cozy blankets and soothing teas to self-care products from our partner Thrive Causemetics.
Research consistently shows that emotional support and community connection improve breast cancer outcomes. Social support reduces stress hormones, improves treatment adherence, and contributes to better overall well-being during one of the most challenging experiences a person can face. Our care packages are a small but meaningful way to deliver that connection — a reminder that you are not alone, that an entire community of people is fighting alongside you.
Our care packages are available to any breast cancer survivor or patient in the United States, completely free. You can request a package for yourself, or nominate someone you know who could use a boost. There are no income requirements, no complicated applications, and no cost — ever. Just fill out our request form, and our team will take it from there.
In addition to our Care Package program, Team Michelle also offers Acts of Love financial grants of up to $1,000 for survivors facing financial hardship during treatment, and we fund cutting-edge breast cancer research grants at UCI and the University of Kansas. Together, these three programs form the core of our mission: support the survivor, support the family, and fund the cure.
